FIRST NIAGARA BANK – PERRYSVILLE BRANCH ROBBED
PITTSBURGH: On Friday, March 23, 2012 at 3:29PM, Zone 1 Officers responded to the 4000 block of Perrysville Avenue (First Niagara Bank) for a bank robbery which had just occurred.
It is reported by a bank employee he was approached at the teller window by a white female who appeared to be staggering and shaking. She placed a note at the window which read “This is a stick up. No dye,packs, no alarms. Nobody gets hurt.” The teller reported that he thought this was a joke as the entire
teller cage is enclosed with protective glass. The teller reported that the female actor pulled a gun from her purse slid it under the slot in the window at the teller station and stated, “This is not a joke.” The employee complied with the demands and gave over an undisclosed amount of US Currency. The actor exited the bank and turned onto Perrysville Avenue.
The actor was described as a w/f, 5’7”, 125lbs, thin build, pale complexion, 30-40yo wearing a tan sun visor, sunglasses, what appeared to be a blond wig wore in a beehive type hairstyle, black hoodie and black pants.
PBP Robbery Squad and the MCU arrived to process the scene. Surveillance footage has been released and is below.

#2: Male, unknown race, 5’9″ – 5’10″, average build, dark hooded sweatshirt, black & white striped bandana on face, dark pants, black & white tennis shoes, brown gloves. Carried small silver pistol.

Lone white male entered through front door. Displayed black revolver which may have been plastic and forced customer to the floor. Made oral demand for money from multiple tellers while waving weapon at both tellers and platform personnel. Passed blue cloth bags to tellers to put money in. Told the tellers: “No dye packs!” Exited front door and attempted to run up steps behind the branch when dye packs exploded and bags containing money were dropped. No vehicle seen. ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

Exited bank through rear entrance and fled on foot down alley. ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

Put cash in his sweatshirt pocket and kept hand in pocket. Exited bank, crossed State Street (State Route 879) and was last seen walking at normal pace south on Walnut Street. ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

Male, white, 35 – 40 years, 5’7″ – 6’0″, 160 lbs. or more, possible muscular build, possible beginnings of a goatee, brown hair (possibly shoulder-length), sideburns; wearing dark-colored ball cap with sunglasses on top of hat, khaki/tan long-sleeve hooded sweatshirt zipped up (sweatshirt had design of what appears to be a dragon on the back and also a design on the left front chest), brown/tan camouflage shorts worn just below the knee, white ankle socks, white running shoes with dark trim. Handgun described as black with silver trim.

robbery. All wearing straw hats, plastic masks, and suit jackets.
Very aggressive, shouting threats and profanity at employees and
demanding money. Put two employees face down on floor & cuffed them
behind the back with plastic tie wraps. Suspects may have attempted to
create a diversion before the robbery by firing shots into a local
store. Possibly escaped in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

Serial Bank Robber 2006A – Update

Bank Robberies
Based upon photos and m.o., it is believed that all of the above bank robberies were committed by the same person. At least 11 robberies have occurred between 04/12/2006 and 03/12/2008 across western Pennsylvania. Banks have been robbed in New Castle (#1), Zelienople (#1), Zelienople (#2), Waynesburg, Grove City, Clarion (#1), Dubois, Clarion (#2), Butler Township, Butler, and New Castle (#2). M.O.
Approaches teller and displays demand note (however, he keeps and takes it with him). Sometimes orally threatens a weapon and sometimes gestures toward waistband as if reaching for weapon, but no weapon actually shown. In some robberies, has been verbally abusive and has used profanity toward the teller. On one occasion, he punched a female teller in the chest. In a robbery on 09/07/2007, fled in a 1996-1999 silver Ford Taurus.

Male, white (sometimes described as Hispanic-looking), early 30’s to early 40’s, approximately 5’7” – 5’9”, average build, dark hair, usually a mustache, always wears sunglasses. On 2 occasions, wore clothing with “Cleveland Browns” logos.

Lone black male with gun ordered customers and employees to get down on floor, vaulted teller counter. Pointed gun at a teller’s head, demanding to get into the vault. Threatened to shoot someone if his demands were not met. When told that the employee with access to the vault was out of the branch, he then took money from multiple teller stations. During robbery, he was in contact with an accomplice outside the bank via walkie-talkie. Very aggressive and verbally abusive. ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

Male, black, 25 – 30 years, 5’8″ or taller, about 175 lbs., wearing black knit hat, gloves, white bandana over face, yellow hooded coat, jeans, Timberland boots, sunglasses. Accomplice was not seen.
